Default What can you tell me about Spanish Fork?

Hi, I'm considering moving to Spanish Fork. From what I can tell on CD it seems like a safe, growing town. Does it have a suburban, or small town feel? What are the schools like?

Any input would be awesome!

Mackinac

My niece and her familiy live there. I would save it's more of a small city feel, but not a small town. I don't know about the population. There are ample grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. I've been told that the Spanish Fork Canyon winds can be an issue depending what area you choose to live in. It's just about an hour south of Salt Lake (closest airport). Dont' know anything about schools as I have no kids nor do I know anyone with school aged children who live in SF.

Very small town feel....there's a couple of grocery stores and I hear of a Costco being built...and lots and lots of residential. It's got a more "country" feel to it...belt buckles and cowboy hats.

I've lived there, and I wont ever again..they like to put warrants out for your arrest for overdue library books So if you are good about returning books, you'll be okay! if not....rofl

The schools are good. I dont know about current, but I know a few years ago Larson Elementary was (near? or at the?) top in the district. The High School was good. Compared to Springville....I felt the quality was better at SF. (I lived in Mapleton as a youth and went to SHS and SFHS)

I lived in SF for a year....I could see Diamond Fork Canyon from my house. I absolutely loved the wind. I could open up all my windows and had a nice forced wind, but not too strong that it knocked stuff over...flush throw my home....so refreshing!

Tell me, is there a substantial non-mormon community there? I like Mormons, but I'd like to have a protestant church to go to out there too.

Just about everywhere in this county you're going to be surrounded by mormons, neighbors, coworkers etc.

However you will also know people who arent too. You wont have a section of non mormons that live in any particular place...but you'll have them scattered amongst the neighborhoods, like you would any sort of minority here (be that religious, ethnicity etc). There's really not specific areas where specific people live (like in larger cities)....everyone lives amongst everyone.

There are going to be mormon churches all over....as far as other religions, I know there is Faith Baptist church, Harvest Bible Church...maybe others, i'm not sure. There are also others in surrounding cities, like a Presbyterian in Springville...as an example.
