Thank you Highway Patrol in Provo Canyon
Thanks to a Higway Patrol man in Provo Canyon for helping me and so many other motorists today. You went beyond your job and I appreciate the help you offered.

As a retired police officer, I recommend you write a letter, and send it to the officer's patrol headquarters. Mark it to the attention of the commanding officer. The chance of the officer seeing this post is slim to none. Most times, compliments are few and far between being a cop.

Jim, I also am an ex-cop and I agree with you about notifying his CO. However, I can also tell you, and you'll agree, that anything negative about an officer's performance would immediately be reported to his/her CO. Compliments are very rare. But screw up and everyone will know, including IA, the press, TV journalists, politicians, the ACLU, Rev. Sharpton, your mom, your church, your school, your - - - will you know what I mean.

There was a long patch of ice and about 15 vehicles were stuck in the middle of the road and off to the side. The Highway Patrol Officer showed up and assisted everyone to get them moving through the ice patch. He pushed us in his vehicle to get us going safely. I am so grateful.
