Smile North Salt Lake or West Jordan

Hi All,

I am new to SL area, therefore I need help from you guys.

I am interested in buying a house in either North Salt Lake or West Jordan. Both seem to be great cities with lower crime compared to the overall average in SL county, though I am not sure.

My main concern is low crime, new(er) home, around 250k, and easy access/not overly long commute to SLC and the airport.

Can anyone please give suggestions?

Thanks!

North Salt Lake will be closer to downtown & the airport. It's about 30-45 minutes from West Jordan to Salt Lake & the Airport. I lived in West Jordan for many years; it's a safe community. I don't know about North Salt Lake.

I think Davis County (North Salt Lake) has a reputation for better schools. If you live in NSL, make sure you stay away from the Rose Park area on the northwest corner of Salt Lake City.

Thank you very much for your responses!

The house I am really interested in is in the Foxboro community, to the West of I-15 and North of Rosepark.
Not sure if that's too close to Rosepark or not...

I actually saw some attractive deals in WVC, though due to the bad neighborhoods, I am pretty sure I won't move there, although I know there are some really nice new places.

I guess I will do more research.

No, I don't think Rose Park will have no effect to that area of West Davis County. West Jordan and North Salt Lake are nice and even West Valley City has nice areas - not all of that city is crime-ridden.

Foxboro is a very nice area with schools and churches right in the community. I believe it has several charter schools also, if you have children. It isn't that close to Rose Park actually. At least not enough to cause trouble.

The further west in West Valley you are, the better it is. Try to stay away from neighborhoods that border 1700 West or so, as that seems to be WV's not so nice area. Didn't used to be that way though....
