From Cali to Park City (area)
This Cali girl is tired of the high rental fees and would love to move to Utah, where the cost of living is a lot less. The Park City area is where I'm interested...near to where my brother and sister-in-law live.
Do you know of any rental units studio/loft/1bdr...etc that is reasonably priced w/ covered or garage parking...and w/d in unit? I have an extremely well behaved cat...so, that'll have fly w/ the rental proberty too...preferably just a deposit needed...not additional rent/mo.
I have a Chevy Metro as well...do you think I'd have to get a new vehicle to brave the various elements?
Any additional site links for a Utah-e-en would be nice...because I know it'll definately be a transition from California living...and would at least like to prepare.
Thank you SO much for any help provided!!

I'll talk to my sister. She has a one-bedroom condo just outside of Park City that she rents. She's also an animal person, so I don't think that would be a problem.

"Reasonably priced" in Park City during ski season is next to impossible to find... Although by Cali standards it may not seem outrageous. But even for a small place I'd be surprised to find anything less than $1000-$1200 range. You should look on Craig's list...
Also, there is a lot more snow in PC than in Salt Lake, so although plenty of people drive regular cars up there, you may want to think about snow tires. There will be times when the roads are covered.

I agree about the snow tires. Think about Blizzaks, Ice Bears or Winterforce.
I just moved to Park City-not cheap during the winter season. I drive a coupe and won't be venturing out at night until I get snow tires!
Things to have handy.....
Ice Scrapper-duh, I forgot mine back east lol
Starter Cable
Windshield Fluid
I've only been out here for a week. Those are the things I've needed so far for my car!

Thank you! A GREAT benefit to having me, is that she wouldn't just have a seasonal renter...like most owners who rent out in the area. I'm a locked in guar. for income.

I'm sorry, I just talked to her. I didn't realize she already has a long-term renter (a school teacher in Park City). She used to rent it by the month. She's trying to sell it, though, and is asking $180,000. To me, that sounds like a real steal. Good luck on finding something.

A 2 BR town home in Park City will probably be at least twice that... or I'd be living up there! For that budget I'd recommend checking out Salt Lake. You are only a half hour away from PC, and that are a lot of nice areas...

rental
its at the base of the canyons resort at the timeberwolf lodges, we're asking 1600 a month, but that includes all your utilities. i know its more than you wanted to spend, but if a roommate is a possibility than it would be perfect
