I have to apologize for being a bit harsh in response to the original statement. But in the spirit of your post, I feel I should disclose something. This extraordinarily hot summer we are having is actually a Mormon plot. The Church has turned up the temperature over Utah to disuade non-Mormons from moving here. After enough people decide it's just too hot, the Church will then lower the average temperature to an idyllic 85 degrees for those of us remaining. A letter from Church headquarters to this effect was read over the pulpit in Church yesterday.

You forgot to mention that the Church has also decided to take over Idaho as well. I was in Jerome County for the last five days and the temps were over a 100 every day. Now, just so no thinks this is a coincidence, on Friday night, it was so hot I slept outside on a hammock and had a nightmare about Mormon crickets. If that isn’t proof the Church is making it hot, I don’t know what is.

This means the church called down the lightning and smote the brush fire near Dameron Valley to take out the grid power lines at 4:20 PM today. We just got the power back around 9PM and the internet a few minutes ago. It is not stable. I must make sure that my bishop knows I will send in more fire insurance in the form of thinithing so that I can have just a bit of A/C. Seriously when a person has an ax to grind, it makes you wonder why they moved here in the first place. It hasn't changed. It was like this before they moved here. It will remain like this after. To lie about it only makes them look small and vindictive for some offense real or imagined.

Oh yes – the plot extends well beyond Utah. The entire West has been sweltering all summer. Its all for the sake of territorial expansion.

It could be human nature. I spent quite a bit of time in oversees with government personnel. Some people seemed adaptable. They lived in third-world countries that were completely foreign and lacking the basics we take for granted. But they loved the experience.

Others, even those living in developed places like Western Europe, would find cause to complain about every little thing that was different. It was almost like something engrained in people’s personalities. Some could embrace change, and some couldn’t. But the people who were happy didn’t try to fight against centuries of culture and tradition.

You have hit the nail directly on the head, Cool. It’s unfortunate that both our internal shifting population and new immigrants can’t grasp this concept.

Adaptation of any species is key to survival. Plants wither and die if they don't adapt. Anaimals soon have problems. Humans get angry and lash out at their surroundings/people. Like has been said, research the area, know if you want to live in that culture. You don't have to be part of it, just respect it and know it won't change just because you moved there. Happiness is what you make it.

Logan, UT has 2 hospitals, the Cache Valley Specialty Hospital and the IHC Medical Center which is opening up a new Women's Center this fall.

Brigham City is a smaller community with a smaller hospital. Great place to live...(I grew up there).

The Ogden area has 2 large hospitals (McKay-Dee (near Weber State University) and Davis Regional). The downside of moving to Ogden is having to deal with major freeway (I-15) construction for the next few years, similar to what SLC went through before the olympics.
