Default Going to Moab, UT

My family is going to Moab at the end of this month, and I just wanted to know if anyone could share some suggestions on places to stay. (We have two boys, 8 & 12). We are looking and Red Cliffs Lodge- anyone been there?
Have any of you used a horseback riding outfitter in Moab?
How about restaraunts?
We expect to spend most of our time outdoors, exploring nature in all its glory, but if anyone has some 'you just gotta go do this' advice, please share!
Thanks for your help!

You just gotta do this:

1. Hike the Fiery Furnace. It's a ranger-guided hike and you'll need to get a reservation as soon as you arrive in the park.

2. Go on one a Hummer Ride over Hell's Revenge (I've got to double-check that name. It doesn't sound quite right.)

3. If it's not still too cold, go on a one-day river run on Westwater.

These three things -- or at least the first two -- are ABSOLUTE MUSTS.

2. Go on one a Hummer Ride over Hell's Revenge. No, you don't drive the Hummer. Somebody else does. It's a lot safer than a Jeep or four-wheeler and it's an experience you'll never forget.

Hmmm. I guess the time has passed when I can edit my post, so this is my creative effort at doing so.

Badland wonder is on a distinguished road
Did stay at the Red Cliffs Lodge a number of years ago and was quite satisfied with it back then. A drive up the Colorado River to Fisher Towers is rewarding with a great hike at the towers. An excellent view from there of parts of Canyonlands and places to pull off and get near the river along the way. And of course Canyonlands and Island in the Sky. Utah isn't known for its good eating establishments, but ask around once you are there.
