PM means she will send you a private message. You can do the same by going to her name in the corner of the screen and clicking on her name Katydid and sending her a private message.

Pocket parks are little parks that are scattered throughout the neighborhood. Our's generally have a bit of green space to run and play, along with some playground equipment.
Sorry about not getting with you sooner. Drat City Data was down.
I hope you had a nice drive through the neighborhood!

If I may stray slighly off topic for a question....canderson, I am getting a Google map drive time of approximately 25 minutes from Heber to Park City. Is this accurate or can it be done faster?
Also, temperatures in Heber seem to climb into the 80's and low 90's during summer, (Midway running a few degrees less) whereas Park City seems to struggle to get out of the low to mid 60's....BRRRR!!! A little too cold for my liking. Has this been your experience?

Hi there Kaytidid, no worries we had a lovely time day in Stansbury Park today. Drove by some houses we really like and ever went into some of the model homes there. Questions, the man showing us the model home told us they do not put basement in there houses. Because people have flooding in their basement there, or rising water? Do you know anything about that?

Being transfered to Park City...help!
My family and I are considering a transfer to Park City. We have lived in Aspen for several summers (also for work) so we understand Ski town issues and influx of tourists as well as cold temps, great snow and fab summers.
My questions relate to schools (4 children) and housing. We want to rent until we figure everything out and I was wondering how annual rental are and also what I can epect for schools (1 high school, 8th, 3rd, 1st).

I have a basement in my house and haven't had any flooding problems. Most homes in Stansbury actually have basements. I am guessing you were looking at the Fieldstone homes? Before we bought the home we are living in now, we had a brand new John Laing home (circa 2001) and the sales people told us they wouldn't put basements in our house for the same reason. Funny thing is...the second phase of the subdivision had, you guessed it, basements. Were we ticked! Come to find out, they were just telling us that they didn't offer basements to keep the pricing down for first time home buyers. My suggestion is that if you want a basement, keep looking. Most of the older homes DO have them. There is a really cute house around the corner from me for sale. It is a 5 bedroom and does have a basement. It was built probably around the same time mine was..about 1997 or 98.

Apparently there's a 20% chance that in the next 50 years there will be a 7.0 or above earthquake. While not quite at Cali-levels, Utah is quite prone to earthquakes, although they don't happen often at all.

No, the schools are on a traditional schedule.
That is a nice area there. Of course, I think all of Stansbury is a nice area.
