high maintenance and stuck up women in Draper
What's with the high maintenance and stuck up women in Draper? Do any of them work? I'm sick of the better than though attitude that runs through Utah. Everyone is always trying to keep up images and with the Jones's, especially the LDS. I mean, who could be fully made up, hair coiffed with 5 kids in tow all just as neat, clean and fashionable. They must have a nanny.

Hmmm. So would it make you feel better if the women were messy and didn't comb their hair before they left the house?
Women who have children shouldn't work outside the home. They are the primary caregivers to their children.

I can't say I've noticed a difference between LDS and non-LDS. However, I have essentially wondered the same question, Intermountain Dog. Maybe it is just some women in Draper, but the ones I'm thinking of must have that Draper zip code.
Let me know what you think is the best answer.

Having lived in cities where there's an overabundance of lazy slobs, I must say that I strongly prefer living near the high maintenance types.

define "stuck up"
Honestly, in this day & age with everything going on in the world, people are complaining about women with pretty hair & makeup who are dressed appropriately and are taking their 5 kids somewhere? I think we should be praising women who choose not to work and raise their own children. And if a nanny is employed to help a woman with 5 children, who cares? It just means the kids are well cared for and someone gets to have a nanny job.
Maybe I should start a thread about people that have nothing better to do but start threads about women minding their own business who got it together... you sound like a bitter jealous wannabe.

Draper is also an affluent area. You are going to get more "stuck up" men AND women because they think they are better than everyone else because of their money (even if that money is only perceived).

Arrogance and Denial

While I may be wrong, I think kwm03160 best explains what some of us encounter in some women who live in Draper.
I don't think there is anything wrong with people being neat and clean. Residents in West and South Jordan, Riverton, Sandy, SLC and every other community in SL County have residents who are neat and clean.
I think it is an air of arrogance and sometime entitlement that is different about some who live in Draper. And yes, the $ may be only perceived, or breaking up marriages due to one spouse working so much to make the mortgage payments for houses/property. Not everyone who looks like they have the perfect life in Draper does when their garage door goes down and they aren't in public.
Thinking about the arrogance factor, and what I'll call a silence or denial factor with people potentially living beyond their means, or having help with their family while denying it. Who cares if a mom has help with her kids? Why does she have to deny it and let other assume she did it herself? Are neat and clean women, who probably work both at home and an outside job, somehow less attractive because they live in a different city?
Does Draper have more of these women since some families live there due to their millions? Usually, they are the first to admit they have help from other people in their homes. Is it the women who truly have the wealth that bother some of us? Or is it those who have the Draper zip code, and through their appearance hope to portray they are somehow superior to others?

Henry David Thoreau said it best... "Most men lead quiet lives of desperation"
I believe no matter where you live there are pockets of people in every town that hide behind the veil of perceived success only to live out lives of desperation. Most people won't tell you the angst they feel inside... but if they have any teenagers... they may be the tell tale sign... teenage angst is awesome. they live out their lives and show their emotions.... until they learn to be adults and hide it...
carry on.
