I was going to say Hires, but I've never actually been to Five Guys. Thanks for the tip.

Best Mexican Fast Food: Lone Star Taqueria (70th South just west of 23rd East)

Best Spaghetti: The Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square
Right on!

Best Greek Drive In Food: Souvlaki's at about 300 South 300 East in Salt Lake.
Without a doubt.

Quote:
Best French Food: La Caille
And here I was starting to think you had some pretty good taste. La Caille is all about atmosphere. The food is very, very overrated in my opinion.

Quote:
Best Omelet: Ruth's Diner in Emigration Canyon
I can go along with that.

Quote:
Best Seafood: Market Street Grill in Downtown Salt Lake
Agreed.

Best Outdoor Cafe: Atlantic Cafe on Main Street just south of 3rd South.

Best Soup: Big City Soup (Fourth West & Second South)

How on earth could I have forgotten one of my very favorite restaurants!

Best view of the city: Ensign peak.

I've only been here a year, and admittedly my list will be biased toward SLC because I've not spent a ton of time elsewhere in the state, but here are some of my favorites so far:
Microbrew: Squatter's Full Suspension Pale Ale
Burger: Acme Burger Company, downtown SLC
Fine Dining: The Paris Bistro
Atmosphere for dining: Log Haven
Pub: Fiddler's Elbow
Mexican: Lone Star Taqueria
Urban Oasis: Liberty Park
BBQ: Pat's
Place to take the Kids anytime: Discovery Gateway
Place to take Kids in winter: Gorgoza Park
Pizza: The Pie
Chinese: David's Kitchen
Sweet Tea: Well, the Cracker Barrel is the only place I've found it so far

Best Veterinarian in Salt Lake City/Cottonwood Heights area: Hillside Veterinary Hospital

Best fast food in southern Utah: Cafe Adobe in Hatch, Utah (take this route between Bryce and Zion).

Best place to stay when visiting Zion Park: Desert Pearl. (This place is almost worth a trip to southern Utah in and of itself, but you may have to book months in advance.)

Best hike in Arches National Park: Fiery Furnace.

Even more bests:

Best hike from a place only reachable from a boat. The hike to Rainbow Bridge on Lake Powell.

Best ice cream in the state: Aggie Ice Cream made at Utah State University in Logan. Farr's Ice Cream in Ogden comes in second.

Best candy in the state: Bluebird Chocolates made by the Bluebird Restaurant in Logan, Utah.

Best country cafe in the state: Mom's Cafe in Salina, Utah. Runners up are the Idle Aisle in Brigham City and the Blue Bird in Logan.

Best place in the state to buy a new car. Bountiful. Virtually all the dealers for all brands employ a "soft sell" approach where they give great service and virtually never pressure you.

Best Pizza in the state: Litza's Pizza at 700 east 400 South, Salt Lake City.

Best place to have an expensive dinner during the Christmas season. The Roof Restaurant at the Joseph Smith Building that stands above Temple Square. Staring down at the Christmas lights while devouring the expensive buffet food is as about as good as it gets. Than you can do a walk through the lights at Temple Square and if you reserve tickets in advance, perhaps a Christmas concert with the Tabernacle Choir in the nearby Conference Center.
