LOL, and there are really too many other issues to discuss on the forum, but it seems everything I've done here has just ended up a disaster!

I'm here in SLC, I have to decide what to do with my downtown condo. I have a tenant, but am having trouble at that too! It seems nothing here can ever go smoothly.

I'll meet ya for coffee!!! Or maybe somebody can organize a CD happy hour or what not, that's what we're doing on the Denver CD forum.

Sorry for the delay! Just got back into town from yet another business trip.

You could definitely count me in for a CD happy hour if someone wants to organize it. I think that it would be a lot of fun!

.................................................. ............

Lots easier to do now that no memberships are required, LOL.
The other idea is to meet up at the Bambara Hotel bar, then do a Pub Crawl of Pierpont St. Did it one night, it was fun.

DM me if you think you might be interested in a monthly get together. I may also start a new thread if there is the interest.

Thanks.....

I would be interested in doing something like that. Won't be there until September though

Great post Janey. I'm non mormon, and was raised here and have lived most of my adult life here. However, I have spent nearly a decade living in several other states. The mormon dominance definitely pervades nearly everysingle aspect of life here, that is true. I know it drives me nuts, and always has.

But, several of my best friends are mormon (though not actively practicing). And I still love it here. Matter of fact living in so many places opened my eyes to how much I like it here - but I'm a skiing and hiking nut.

One of my friends, a jack mormon, is finding it impossible to meet women here. They are either already married, will only marry active lds, or if they are in their 30's and single, they've already been married, divorced, and have kids to raise. He's about ready to move out of state just due to the poor singles scene.

Utah is like anywhere else it has its good thank you to the LDS unemployment services who helped my DH when he was pinked sliped, in finding work and building up his confindance(we are non LDS), the person who returned my wallet with everything untouched including cash, when I lost it at the local walmart and of course to the people who went out of there way to help us when we needed to find an emergancy room our first day here. Then the bad not anything to do with religon at all, just to the fact that I picked a pre school that has left my son terrified about going to kindergarden. I have no clue on what to do with that other then, to reassure him it will be okay. Utah is like anywhere else, yes it can be quirky then again I come from New Mexico: land of enchantment, Meth making high school teachers (Breaking Bad), tumbleweed snowmen, and of course little green men. So in my book quirky is good.

That is exactly the feeling I've gotten here over the years. It's been so very hard finding someone to relate with. I did however, realize I should've moved closer to my family years ago, just never got the freaking nerve to just get up and go.

JaneyBlu. You wrote an extremely interesting post, and I thank you for it. I am planning on moving to Salt Lake City next year to start a business. I am Christian, but not Mormon, and was wondering if you could foresee this as being a problem in that do the Mormons typically only do business within their faith?
Your comments, insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
