Hello,
My soon-to-be father/mother in law are coming for a visit this weekend (Aug 21-23) and I'm trying to brainstorm some activities/sightseeing that we could do.

In the past visits we have taken them to Temple Square, both for the general tour and to hear the organ, out to Midway to look at the Swiss Days buildings, a short hike up Grove Creek Canyon and driving through the Alpine Loop.

I have heard rumors about Sundance Ski Resort doing nighttime trips up the ski lifts during the summer. Does anybody know about this?

Does anybody know about any festivals, evening-in-the-park music concerts, or anything of that sort going on this weekend?

Does anybody have some unique Utah Valley sightseeing suggestions?

They are from a large Texas city, with miles of heat, graffiti, and dry landscape. They seem to enjoy the greenness of Utah and the calmness of small cities/towns.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

1. Ride the Heber Creeper from Heber to Vivian Park and back.
2. Go to Park City and look around.
3. Drive the Nebo Loop from Spanish Fork to Nephi.
4. Drive up Provo Canyon and walk along the hiking trails by Bridal Veil Falls.
5. Any exhibitions these days at BYU? Check the website and look.
6. If you have access to a boat, boat on Deer Creek Reservoir.
7. Lunch at (I believe it is called) Brick Oven Pizza in Provo.
8. You've been to Midway. Ever done lunch at the Homestead? Its pretty good. While you are there, you can look at the hot springs they have there underground along with the scuba diving facilities.
9. Drive from Provo to Heber to Kamas and show them the High Uintas. Don't stop before you get at least to the Provo River Falls or Mirror Lake.
10. For a purely historical tour, drive out to west Utah County and visit Camp Floyd. You'll learn all about the Utah War in 1857.

The alpine scenic loop goes from American Fork Canyon, up and over to sundance, then to Provo canyon. It is a great sunday afternoon drive. BYU has a few good museums too.
