Kamas is small. Its the Gateway to the High Uintas forest and recreation area. There is a grocery store. There are a couple of gas stations and a drive in that's open during the summer. Its home to South Summit High School. Its about 10 to 15 miles northeast of Heber. You go by the Jordanelle Reservoir to get there. Winters are cold there because of the high elevation.

Because I could easily get a job in SLC, but I really liked the Kamas area. Are there any similar cities to Kamas in the SLC area?

Heber is a few miles closer to Salt Lake. You might consider living there.

I know the little diner comming out of the uintas costs too much and has not so great food. I always just drive straight through.

heber is still a bit of a drive, better then kamas but still not close by any means. I can only imagine the wear and tear you would be putting on your car going up and down the mountain like that every day.
