I was just reading on another website where someone said Eagle Mtn residents are currently being subjected to astronomical utility rates, and many are having issues with flooded homes. Can anyone shed more light on this? It was also stated that Eagle Mtn sufferes from the effects of the inversions just as much as the rest of the valley.

Its a mess, and its sad Eagle Mountain is a pretty area, if you are looking to move check out Saratoga Springs nice area and the neighborhoods are more diverse then the rest of Utah County,while still small.

the other thing that's scaring me about the whole area is the air quality issue. I had my heart set on the utah lake area, but the air could be a big deal breaker for me =(

Utah County air is actually more often than not even WORSE then Salt Lake County's. The Orem/Provo area can look like the same toxic soupy mess. I have to take my wife to a doctor there in Orem on a regular basis. We take Redwood Road down to the southern end of Saratoga Springs to cut across and it can be completely murky to say the least. You may just want to reconsider your move here. If I had a choice I'd be headed out

We do notice in Saratoga Springs but its not as bad as other places in Utah County. Some parts are just bad, we used to live in an area in Pleasant Grove that it would make you physically sick because of the air. I wish we could afford to live somewhere else, but right now we are hear and have to make the best of it. I so wish they would give it a better name then inversion (sounds to nice) something more like " cloud of toxic yuck " would be much more fitting.

Heck in New Mexico they used to refer to the inversion as "the brown cloud" because it was indeed tinted brown.

I posted a question about the utility bills on Eagle Mountain City's facebook page, and they replied with a link to this:

and this (from the city of Eagle Mountain's Facebook page):

The link I posted for you earlier explains why people saw increases on their bills - longer read periods due to an equipment failure and colder temperatures. The rates have not changed. The document you've been given by eagleshare misrepresents many facts and was posted online and given to the media before the City was given an opportunity to respond. A Town Hall meeting was held by the City on Feb. 13 to address this document and people's questions about their bills: http://www.emcity.org/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC={D4C90717-CF47-4B64-8138-31BCB51A723A}&DE={824A29D7-B88D-4FA4-93EB-460109FE4BBA}

We have been providing information and answering questions about this since Feb. 10. To get a more complete picture of the issue, you may want to also read posts on this page starting on Feb. 10.
