Default is there a place there?

We are starting to look for a retirement area for the future. We desire a more isolated location. Need low priced acreage for horses. Conservative values. Pleasant not too hot weather and not a lot of snow. Basic necessites like a Walmart and medical facilities within a 30 minute drive. Is there such a place there?

I am not a horse person, so I need to ask a question; What does a horse need as far as acreage is concerned? Does it need grass, etc.?

There is a lot of cheap property in my area, but it's high desert. Things grow, but it takes it irrigation. I notice there are a number of people with horses on their properties, but they don't graze them. They bring in hay and other feed.

What about the Delta area? I drive through there a lot and there is a lot of cattle and horse pastures. I also know a few farmers who report weather data to us who live in Delta. Its quite and has great views of the mountains.

I have the perfect place. Aurora, Utah. Aurora is only 15 miles from Richfield which has a Walmart and other stores. The farm land is very cheap and the land and houses are great. Aurora was settled in the spring of 1877 by my
3rd great grandparents, John White Curtis and Matilda Miner.
Click on the link below. It has information about Aurora:

Good Luck!

Thanks all! The horses don't have to have a lot of grass but they sure do prefer it It's also a bit cheaper than buying hay for all their meals. Delta and Aurora sound really nice. How much snow do you all get? Does it stay on the ground all winter or melt off quickly. Just curious. I grew up in NE PA and hated having snow on the ground for months on end. I spent 20 years in central Texas and got used to no snow. Now I'm in VA and really don't want to spend the rest of my life on the east coast (no offense to anyone). I would love a less humid climate and Utah looks very beautiful. Thanks again...

P.S. . How cool to have had your 3rd great grandparents settle Aurora! You should be very proud to be carrying on the family tradition
