This is what I've been told. Not exactly an array of options...

Jwind,

Yes we found a 3 bed 2 bath near the city park. We're moving around the first of July. It's a modular home (which is the majority of the rental market) It has a fenced in yard for our dogs and an open floor plan so I think we got pretty lucky. Like I said we had quite a bit of competition when we were looking for a place but the process was much easier than I thought it would be.

Is it official then? Are you moving? If so we should meet up for a beer.

Yes. It's official. So, one silly questions. Do cockroaches make it up to Moab. We've spent that last year in SC and can't wait to leave. Never really got used to the cockroachs. ;P

Congratulations! I thought I saw you mention that your girlfriend works in health care. If so she might be working with my wife who will be working at the hospital.

In regard to your question about cockroaches, rest assured I have lived all over the state of Utah and I have never encountered one. The climate gets way too cold in the winter for them to survive. However I lived in southern California for five years so I feel your pain they are the most annoying, disgusting creatures on the planet. I used to stuff steel wool in my drains to keep them from climbing up through my drains.

In the Utah desert you might encounter a cricket, a lizard or an occasional rattle snake but if you don't bother them they usually steer clear of you. If you have any more questions about the area don't hesitate to ask

BWill--I got your private message and responded, but have a feeling that I didn't do it right. You either got my reply TWICE or not at all. Please reply to this (the regular way) and let me know if you DID get it.

Thanks!

Not to mention half the listings on Craigslist for rentals are scams. Damn them.

No cockroaches in Moab. The radioactive tailings pile in town takes care of them

Default Moving to Moab

I'm heading to Moab in a few weeks in hopes of getting a veterinarian position. I have been searching all over the web and have been unable to locate any home rentals other than vacations rentals. HELP!!! Is there some site I can check out or is there really nothing available? Or are there perhaps some apartments that are dog friendly?

Vet, have you checked craigslist? Many are scams but some are legit. Also drive around and look for signs. Many small owners don't advertise.
