Default Orchards, WA

I am a student from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. I am working on a map project for my geography class and have chosen Orchards, WA for my topic. If anyone can give me any information on the schools, economy, types of jobs, or anything else that may be of interest to me, please post it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Orchards is predominantly built out suburban unincoprorated Clark County that is waiting to be swallowed up by Vancouver, soon to be the 2nd largest city in the state of Washington. Part of Orchards has already been swallowed up and is part of the city of Vancouver. As for jobs, nothing exciting other than your typical suburban fare. Directly aacross the I-205 from Orchards in Vancouver is the Vancouver Mall, so there is some commercial spillover into Orchards. The area is mostly served by the Evergreen School District however some people in the area are in the Vancouver or Battleground School Districts.

Why did you pick Orchards?

Default Thanks Andy

Hey thanks for your help Andy. I picked Orchards randomly. But I am interested in possibly moving to Washington someday. I am from Minnesota, and think that I would enjoy the scenery and the climate in Washington. I guess since I had to do this project for a class of mine I was interested in learning more about an area that I would possibly like to live someday.

Thanks again for your help. If you can think of anything else that would be of interest to me I would appreciate any comments.

Default Orchards

Yes, Orchards seems to be just part of Vancouver. Orchards has alot of rentals and 1970's houses.

An industry that was not mentioned is High Tech is emerging.. there are SEVERAL Hi Tech industries in Portland Area(just accross the River) and in Camas (another close small town in Wa) Alot of people choose to live on this side of the River due to the fact that there is no state tax's and just 1 hop over the River inot Or there is no Sales Taxes.
