Good/bad input about Walnut Grove area in Vancouver, WA
Does anyone have anything bad to say about Walnut Grove area in Vancouver (Minehaha, NE 63 St area)? It is fairly close to Westfield Shoping Center which recorded several negative comments.
Thanks.

Nothing bad to say about the area at all. The only thing I can see is the current road construction other than that all seems well. Close shopping , freeway access , fire dept.ect.
best of luck!

Good area to live...agree with pm all the construction going on over by the fire dept. on 63rd. But they are almost done with that. I live on the other side and andresen and been here almost 6 yrs and has not been any crime to my knowledge in my neighborhood.

there were some areas of high % rentals just north of the mall, and across freeway on 63th overpass. (low rent district of Orchards). I'd say there is a likelihood of some property crime (theft / meth). Orchards Park is notorious for not-so-nice crimes.
Some of the older areas are very nice in Walnut Grove, and... there is an influx of 'upper-middle' class newer homes.
It is a very convenient location. But I'm a little leary of the high traffic, and would look to 'The Heights' where more established neighborhoods = better traffic flow, and not the open space that brings shopping centers and apartment complexes.

When you say Heights, what area are you referrgin to? Looks like they are more than one Heights in Vancouver.
Thanks.

Basically the region on N and S of Mill Plain, Between 86th Ave, and west till Mill Plain drops down to Grand.
Since you are considering buying, try to get a 'view' house, as they are Much easier to sell and easier to live in too !
so... in the Height's, you can get 'north views' of St Helens, and 'South Views' of Portland lights and the river. There is a nice little neighborhood SE of 'the igloo' off E. Evergreen ~ across from Harney Elementary. I have some more 'trendy' single friends who live there and love it. There was a lot FS quite cheap in there that I told my son to buy and build a very small, 'cute-cottage', with detached garage w/ apt. Then he could live in Apt, and rent the house. Anything close to "the Fort" / historical area of Officers Row, has good resell, and great livability.
