I've always liked the Orchards area. Some parts are stripmall hell, but it's seems to be a nice area with good people and nice established neighborhoods.

My sister has lived in the Orchards area for about 12 years. She loves it and does not ever plan to move. She is in her late thirtys and owns a business. There are a lot of things to do there, think big city things because Vancouver and Portland are so close. Plus you get the country view and temperment.

The Orchards area I know is north of Fisher's Landing...which is on the far east side of Vancouver. I've never heard of more than one area referred to as "Orchards" but it is a pretty big area, which might be the reason for some of the confusion.

What is the other area you've heard referred to as Orchards?

Here's a link to the local Clark County newspaper's crime stats per neighborhood: Columbian.com - Crime Watch

In the box on the right side of the page that says "Clark County Neighborhood Crime Statistics", click on the link that says "Click here to see numbers for all neighborhoods". A page will pop-up with the stats broken down by specific neighborhood. You won't see one for "Orchards" because that's a HUGE area with several neighborhood associations inside of it.

I think East of I205 its called East Orchards, west of I205 - West Orchards. Is there a difference between them? West Orchards seems to be closer to Vancouver Mall, which is apparently a bad area.

Thanks.
