Discount furniture stores near Camas/Vancouver
In Colorado (our previous state of residence), there was a furniture store called American Furniture Warehouse that was HUGE. No matter what you were seeking, you could find it in one afternoon there. Quality was good and prices were low.
Is there anything similar near Camas/Vancouver? Google isn't helping me find it. I'm shopping for a new sofa and I have a tight budget. I'm willing to drive to Portland or anywhere else within 45 minutes or so...

Try Regal Rest on Fourth Plain just east of Grand. It's not huge, but they have decent prices. There is another one in Battleground on Main St.
Here's more.

Also, keep in mind that you can avoid the sales tax heading into Portland. If you prefer shopping locally, though, there is a furniture store in Camas, but I wouldn't necessarily consider it a "discount" place. Here's their website: One Stop Home Furnishings in Camas, Washington Camas,Vancouver Washington, Washougal,Clark County,Skamania County,Hazel Dell,Battle Ground,Stevenson,North Bonneville,Carson,Ridgefield, local, Furniture Appliances Mattress Retail Store

Thanks, DiggityDot!
We've discovered that we can't avoid the sales tax. The Oregon furniture stores ask where you are "going to take possession" and if you live in Washington, they charge sales tax. Several of the stores also charge a fairly hefty delivery charge ($150 or more) to cross the bridge.
I think I'll check out the One Stop Home Furnishings place. I saw their ad this week and the prices seemed good.

Yeah, the only way to really avoid the Portland stores being all snoopy about where you live is if you're willing to pick up your furniture at their warehouses. I helped a friend do this and it's worth the money in taxes and/or delivery fees to just not have to do it myself.
I like One Stop Home Furnishings, too. It's been in business for a LONG time in the Camas area and has some really nice people working there.

Not at all what I have found... only the chains seem to want to charge the tax. We are furnishing our house and have purchased from a number of different Oregon stores and have not paid any sales tax. All of the stores use third party delivery and consider any sale in state regardless of the buyers address.
We have purchased from JR, Schatz, Bassett, Dania, and others with no issue on tax. True that delivery is usually about $90 unless you left too much money on the table and then they may help cover it.

Not true.
I bought a mattress set a little over a year ago from a Jantzen Beach retailer and they not only delivered it free, but they did not charge me sales tax.
I did mention I just came from their next door competition who had slightly lower prices, so they may have waived tax and delivery to get me to buy.
You just have to learn to haggle. Even if they won't let you get away from the taxes, you should be able to get free delivery.

I have no right to ask to where you live or to where it's being deliveried!!!
They want business!!! Ask before hand if you buy a certain amount is the
delivery free? If not walk out!!!!!
