Do you have a favorite park or walking trail in Vancouver? Looking for a place that is safe for moms and kids to spend time outdoors during the week.

I love riding my bike on the burnt bridge creek trail! I think you always have to be aware of your surroundings due to all the zombies, with that said I don't see many on this trail.

If you want to drive over to Camas the Lacamas Creek trail is great. Nice wide safe walking trail. About 15-20 minutes from the trailhead you get to a bridge over a waterfall. My kids love to go down and hop on the rocks and play in the water there. Very pretty spot. Popular and safe. Honestly it is one of the prettiest trails in the entire PDX area.

The trailhead parking is not well marked and easy to miss. There is a small sign but you practically drive past the spot before you see the sign.

You would be very surprised to know the data from sidewalk accidents. Just last yr a couple hit and run fatalities locally to people on sidewalks. I never feel safe on a sidewalk, even in a low traffic subdivision (where the hit and runs occurred BTW). Seems people walking on sidewalks are MAGNETS to out of control drivers.

But... I lived in Spain and soon realized why people walked in the streets.... The DOGS use the sidewalks (for toilets), as they are too smart to walk in the street, so you have to be VERY careful where you walk on a sidewalk in Spain. Streets are safer, Spanish drivers will expect you to be walking in the street.
