With all the flooding in Texas and probably soon to be Florida it's a good time to remember to get the history of any used vehicle and look for water damage. As for which credit union to use, can't help you there, but:

IQ and Twinstar are the result of a few merged CU in SWWA.
https://www.iqcu.com/
https://www.twinstarcu.com/2016-annual-report

IQ is usually good for new business accounts, I have sent many clients there, They host classes and are community / business focused.. but I have never used / needed them. (~ $1b / 70k members)

I am Credit Union centric and been served well by what is now First Technology CU (formed 1952), PNW centric, Branches in OR and WA. $8b / 500k members (Merged tech companies credit unions TEK, MS, HP, ...(very solvent / cash rich...) ) Great for mortgages and business loans / commercial properties. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Tech_Credit_Union

Columbia CU I have had some issues...

Banks... local Community based business banking at Continental Pacific

Riverview is another local grown business bank.
US Bank has a strong Portland presence and has done well on our business accounts.

We belong to both Sound CU and BECU, right now 2 cars (1 new one used) and one RV with them, all at 4.x %, and very pleased with the service on both. Also have checking and savings on both, and all earn interest.

Pentagon Federal is one of the best in the nation. No particular reason for it to be local for a used car loan.

True, father you only want a loan, but there are big advantages if you use them as your banks, to have local branches and cash machines.

Only problem is inability to deposit cash. Most reimburse ATM fees and allow you to deposit via a phone app or scanner these days.

We have BECU ATMs that accept cash or check deposits in several locations, usually outside in strip malls. Normally I deposit checks by phone, by sometime she use them to get cash. There are many branches that have 2-3 of those machines inside the entrance so no waiting for a teller, like 2nd and Pine Seattle, 148th in Bellevue, and near Target/Safeway/Trader Joe's in Issaquah.

With ATM fee reimbursement you can go to any machine anywhere.
