How is the commute from Vancouver to Portland or Sherwood to Portland. Looking to live in Vancouver or Sherwood (which seems pretty nice).

No matter where you go there is no prefect State, or city for weather.
Everyone complains!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christ try living in a third world country with high heat and humidity!
I love to live in Fargo North Dakota...
Away from people, no traffic, 4 seasons, cheap living, very cold, deep
snow, and low crime.

Vancouver to Portland during rush hour can take 20-35 min, and this is counting being on the I-205 bridge by about 6:30 - 6:40 AM. Any later, the times are much longer. There are lots of variables to consider.
But I enjoy being in Vancouver

That's the truth. I lived in a third world country with high heat and humidity. Miami.

perfect weather to me is weather that humans would be able to survive in easily even with out modern convenience. I believe that Western Washington is that place.

I would say the coastal cities of california offer perfect weather. however, that really depends on the person. IF you need snow - than you will drive 2+ hours to get there. If you do not like hot weather than Vancouver Washington and the entire State of Washington is a wonderful place to live. But, if you don't like a lot of wet than you need to....... I think purchasing several homes is actually the best answer. One for each season. Lake Tahoe for winter. Washington for summer. Fall in Maine. Spring in California or just about anywhere for that matter. Of course all of this is referring to the USA 48 states. I don't prefer the humidity in Hawaii and for all general purposes have never been to Alaska. Was this reply any help?

I like your choices, except I might go with Vermont for fall, phoenix for winter...Wa for summer is absolutely the best on Earth.

Foreverking, I'm guessing you've not been to Sonoma County in Northern CA...
Just sayin'
But all in all, Vancouver is not a bad place to be.
