Hello,
First of all, I grew up in Salmon Creek and have had the opportunity to see it grow. Salmon Creek Elementary is where I started my schooling in 1983. My sisters are 12 now and had 3 of the same teachers I did growing up. It was different when I went to school because of this WASL testing they do now. (my son is in kindergarten now and I'm just learning about it) The school itself is a great school. I would have to say probably one of the best in Vancouver. They are very diverse but strict in their policies. Same goes for Skyview High. I did not attend to Skyview because it opened (I believe) 2 years after I was attending Columbia River High. I have heard that it is an excellent school. When considering areas to buy a home I looked in the Skyview area for housing. It was a little too pricey for me at the time because of the one income household. (typically in the high 200's to mid 400's) I also looked into the Evergreen School district because of it's reputation of excellent schools. (being a real estate agent helps) The prices of the homes are a little less expensive (typically around the mid to high 200's) Salmon Creek has grown so much since I was a kid though. There is now a new Legacy Hospital, many shopping areas and restaraunts and just a few minutes drive to Oregon. Very diverse area. No discrimination that I have seen. Very friendly place. I would and will move back to Salmon Creek here shortly. I hope this has helped, if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. ![]() Last edited by worldpremier_slott; 01-16-2007 at 01:20 AM. |

I forgot to mention that there are a lot of things for the kids to do in salmon creek. there is an indoor go kart type race track, a kids play place, parks. KlineLine park (which is swimming in summer, fishing in fall) The actual Salmon Creek that runs through the area. In nearby other subdivisions there is Ice skating, bowling, Theatres. The nearby Vancouver Mall, which is accessible by public transportation if you didn't want to be a chauffeur.. lol
Have you been to Vancouver yet? Let me know. thanks Last edited by worldpremier_slott; 01-16-2007 at 01:21 AM. |
