Vancouver, WA has over 40 transient sex offenders (Seattle, Tacoma: low crime, neighborhood)

wandering it's streets with no way for the police to keep track of them.
Neither the city nor the State Patrol will clean up the camp areas. We moved here without knowing that and are mortified and moving somewhere else. Many live downtown in the bushes off the I-5 freeway entrances and beg for money there. It's pretty scary knowing these dangerous rapists and child molesters are running free in our community and housed by homeless shelters such as Share which does not deny housing them. The downtown has a lovely community of people and there are elementary schools here where many of these transient sex offenders hang out.
Just something people should be aware of before they move here. We are moving as soon as we can sell because we think a city that allows these sex offenders and a huge number of homeless men to panhandle for a living so they can comfortably remain here is a city that cares little about it's population's safety and it's downtown vitality.

What?! You're claiming that the local bushes are so full of sex offenders that you're moving?
You're basing this panic on what? Are the bushes harboring these sex offenders outside your garage? Do you think you could be over-reacting just a wee tiny bit here?
Surely you are free to live where you please, but your post includes no substantiating facts, no particular type of shrubbery, and questionable statements about "dangerous rapists and child molesters are running free in our community" that sound shrilly like end-of-the-world Armageddon predictions strait from a biblical plague.
I have a hard time believing that Vancouver, Washington is exactly as you describe.

Vancouver is no worse than any other city it's size. As a matter of fact, you hardly ever hear about rapes or serial molesters, so your information is obviously based on scaremongering rather than facts.
As far as the homeless in the area, yeah maybe there are more than average, but I'd be willing to say Portland has more to do with it than anything. Portland has a rep of being a good homeless town. There are plenty of places to go and the weather isn't real bad either. Some spill over onto this side of the river. Yes, I see cops running off freeway panhandlers all the time, but they come right back. The police can't spend all their time running them off.
My kids and I have lived here for over twelve years now. I've never had any problems. Neither have my kids.
Anyhow, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Vancouver a walk the park, comaped to Tacoma, Wa!!!!!
That has to be the worst place in the state of Washington
for sexual predators by far.
You have them everywhere and should not have to worry
here in Vancouver.
FOR ALL YOU APOLOGISTS FOR homeless SEX OFFENDERS-Whose child are you willing to risk being assaulted? It only took one time for the transient sex offender to strike and take the lives of two brothers in Seattle. There are dozens of level three (highest likelihood to re-offend)homeless sex offenders living in Vancouver, Washington.
Of course I do not believe child molestors are lurking in the bushes. What an immature response to a factual comment made about the number of homeless child molestors living in our community---read on...
A transient sex offender in Tigard just attacked a woman in August. Transient sex offenders and other homeless men (one recently attacked a woman in a wheelchair at a hospitol he was being treated at) commit sexual assualts quite regularily throughout our nation. Adult child sex offenders need to be committed to prisons for life so they cannot have the average 117 victims whose lives they destroy.
Vancouver has laws against panhandling. The Washington State Patrol will not enforce its regulations regarding right of way on freeway entrances which does not allow for pan handling either.
30 Oct 2008 ... Prosecutors say a homeless man with a long criminal history faked a University
Bridge bike injury as bait for his 3 a.m. attack, ...this happened in Seattle. The man had a long history of homelessness.
The transients here use the downtown public library toilet which makes it unsafe for a young boy to use alone. They camp in the bushes at the I-5 Mill Plain North bound entrance. Unlike those of you who believe the area is safe because murder and mayhem is not occurring right at this very time, it only takes once for these worst of the worst type of human beings to strike and forever destroy the life of a child.
But hey, you are safe so what the heck!
Yes, Vancouver has low crime but again, whose child will we sacrifice to those who care nothing of human life so you can play Mr. Goody Two Shoes, defending sex offenders, bums who make bad choices in life and Vancouver politics? Are you a city employee?
People moving here should know that these people are roving freely through out our community.
Also, the Washington State Patrol has updated list available, with pictures, of these homeless, transient sex offenders, most of whom have already raped and/or molested a child and/or woman not that that would bother men who have rape fantasys themselves.
Perhaps that is why we cannot get laws enacted to incarcerate these preditors for life-too many men having rape fantasys???? Just a thought for those of you in Vancouver, Washington who are alright with there being dozens of transient sex offenders in our community.
First off, im a 27 yr old male who grew up in vancouver wa and has 2 children, age 7 and 3, and keep in mind I dont have any rape fantasies as I respond to your asinine post..

Wow, the first thing referencing the city we are bashing....... how novel.. and yes, they let homeless use the library, those liberal wackos.... let them stay homeless by I-5 too.... but until we pass some federal regulations completely banning homelessness pretty much any city you go to with a population over 10,000 is going to have some homeless people in it.... so good luck with your move.... if I were you id try GARIBALDI OREGON, nice and small..... good place to turn your children into paranoid zombies....
Why are you only worried about "transient" sex offenders? According to the sheriff's office, there are nearly 1000 registered sex offenders in Vancouver, so your chances of running into them are probably much higher right in your own neighborhood than under a bridge somewhere.

I honestly think these sex offender lists cause more anxiety than the peace of mind they're meant to produce. When I was a child, we had no idea what kind or how many sex offenders were in our neighborhood, but we were taught to be wary of strangers and use our heads to avoid dangerous situations. You run a much higher risk of being killed in a car accident than being molested by a sex offender, transient or not, but that probably doesn't stop you from driving all the time.
Why fixate on this stuff? Wherever you go you find this sort of thing. There are no "pure" parts of the US or anywhere for that matter they are just better at keeping it out of the newspapers. I lived in a town pop. 10,000 in Cali, and we had plenty. It was considered a so called safe place. Nice place to raise kids (may be an offender attractant).
