Default Mid-Century Neighborhoods in Vancouver, WA

Hello,

My partner and I are looking to move back to the NW from Washington, DC. I'm interest in relocating to Vancouver, WA. We are very interested in purchasing a home built in the 1950's or 60s, specifically with that classic mid-century modern look. Can anyone recommend neighborhoods that contain these types of houses? Price range would be in the 200k-400k range. Our preference is to live closer to the I-5 part of the city.

Thanks for your help!

Shawn

Neighborhoods south of Mill Plain (but still on the bluff), like DuBois Park, Evergreen Highlands, Edgewood Park.

It does look like there are some houses from that era in those areas based on my real estate seaches. They appear to be nice neighborhoods as well. Thanks for your response!!

How is the Allwood Manor area of Vancouver? It looks like there are some custom built mid-century properties there.

When I search on Allwood Manor, I pretty much get back the larger area of Vancouver Heights. There are some nice houses there, but there are some very NOT nice houses and areas, too, say right around Wal-Mart. Thinking back, there are some mid-century houses right around the hospital, but I don't suggest living there - keep south of Mill Plain, for the most part.

The only way to tell (well, other than being there) is to go to one of the real estate sites that has the "aerial" view so you can actually look at the neighborhood.

Look here and then west on evergreen towards Ft Vancouver / Officers Row. Preferably the south side of Evergreen Blvd
