Lap swimming at the HS. Stevenson's greatest asset

(except maybe an occasional salmon chowder bread bowl @ Big River, or a brew at Walking Man.)
Too bad the Swimming Pool funding 'powers-that-be' don't swim, or recognize the benefit to programs they don't offer (water polo, more school swim training, and exercise programs ...)
They are really shooting themselves in the foot by closing the pool. One of the potential new INSIT.. employees or families could easily figure out how to keep this important facility alive. (like building a community / family workout center adjoining on the vacant tennis court OR do a different funding model)
Stevenson (Skamania senior services) seems to have their act together.
The Fair is great, and price is right

Bluegrass Fest, Quilt Show, Mystery weekend, ...
Whether Stevenson can rise to the challenge of hosting Hi-Tech and enriching the lives and career potential of a new workforce will be interesting to watch, but I don't expect the Skamania County 'social-dynamics' will avail this, and the new companies will eventually (or quickly) exodus (with their families, intellect, energy, and tax $$), as soon as the other nearby counties respond to the growth needs, too bad.
The customer facing people at courthouse / building dept / library ... seem to be much easier to work with that most other counties, but.... then there is the
totally bizarre element of some officials and residents.

(a Skamania County thing...
