Default Hey, this is the gorge!!!

Lots of blogs, lots of people thinking of moving to Camas/Washougal, anyone ever been to New Zealand??? Doesn't this place look just like it??? Take a drive up 14 for say 20 minutes, look around, waterfalls, Mt. Hood and Columbia River views, CLEAN AIR, run up Beacon Rock for the view, hike your brains out.....THIS IS THE GORGE PEOPLE!!! And guess what, you can buy a really cool house really cheap with great views, keep more of your paycheck as WA is a zero income tax state, and leave your windows open on hot days no worries!!! Low crime, small numbers of sex offenders compared to other "nice" cities (like Eugene where we moved from...a shockingly high number) lets compare that shall we? Eugene 73 (our old zip code) Washougal 4 (our new zip code). Okay so that is a no brainer. SIMPLY the best schools, plenty of funding...explain that Oregon...new buildings for the schools this '09 school year and the first ever carbon neutral green high school in the country being built for 2010. In my opinion people should be flocking here, but that's just me. We still can't get over that we can drive 15 minutes and be in Portland, or drive 15 minutes the other way and be in complete waterfall wilderness heaven with killer gorge views and clean air that looks like the fyords of Norway....and live in between. We see the city lights below, have CLEAN AIR and cooler temps as the gorge breezes blow constantly, what's not to love about this place? We bought nearly 4,000 sf for mid $300s of quality custom home with killer finishes, these Russian builders are amazing, we love them. Thank you, Russian builders, you are truly artists and I for one am a loyal fan.

If you are even half way thinking of the Northwest, even half way thinking of Camas/Washougal versus Portland, then take a drive up the gorge on the Washington side and say like we did, why wouldn't anyone want this?????
