Thoughts:

- lots of people like living in Vancouver, but then again, lots of people like living in Spokane also. Are you looking for something, or just seeking a change of scenery?

- the employment situation around here is really tight. Do you have jobs lined up already, or can you get along for a long time without jobs? Seriously, it's really bad around here.

- Spokane is the central city of its area; Vancouver is a suburb of Portland. Why not move to Portland?

Do you want to rent or buy, be near downtown or in a more suburban neighborhood ? Everything is really close in Vancouver, so you can be in a neighborhood with easy access to Portland and downtown Vancouver...are schools an issue for kids or no? There are lots of great places to live in Vancouver, but if you want the active-downtown vibe then you need to be in Portland or really close in to downtown Vancouver...

Check out uptown village, it's a nice area with plenty of rentals available, I spent the weekend there and was surprised at the neat art galleries and resaurants/bars. It's on the north end of downtown main street.

moved here from Spokane. Loved Spokane, but there's so much more to do here, great city things and a much larger diversity of outdoor activities. This is the best place I've ever lived, and I've lived all over the country. It does rain here a lot in the winter in spring, but you get used to it. The summers are amazing!
