Default Thoughts on Ridgefield?

We were out there on Saturday checking out Felida and drove out to ridgefield to look at some homes as well. It feels very far away from major dr/grocery/shops but I loved the small town feel. I am worried coming from pdx that I might go crazy with the smallness of it, but I could love it too. It was beautiful there on Saturday, the sun was shining and we saw several eagles flying overhead. The views were stunning, a lot like we have in our area (when you are up high) of the coast range.

I know folks that really love it there, but you do end up driving for services (temporarily). It is a pretty expensive area which can be good or bad. I haven't paid much attention to activities other than the wildlife refuge that take place there. I would recommend:

1) determine why you want to go there
2) attend some local events / meetings within your interest level.
3) does it meet your current needs
4) how long before you plan to 'move-on'?

Since I don't know if you are 18 or 80 and no clue what your interests / needs are (schools, jobs, retirement, gardening, wind surfing,,,) I am of little help. If you are a duck hunter you should be very happy there.

I would be sure to look at schools in that area if that's important to you, our new neighbors moved from Ridgefield because they weren't happy with the schools.

That said, I know very little about the area. Good luck in your search!

Yes, schools are very important to us and I think we have ruled out Ridgefield for this reason. Also, the thought of having to drive all teh time to get to dr. apt. and stores, etc. is not super appealing. It is beautiful though.
