Not sure if this thread has completely died, but I was still hoping for some info on La Center. Schools, shops, library... mostly a good feel for the community. I have had a hard time finding anything other than it has casinos. Has that affected the community? Does it have a quaint little downtown? I liked Ridgefield for that, but it looks like there are tract housing developments going up all over and the schools are old and way over crowded.

Towns to look at when we're there...
Hello, I am new to the forum. looking to relocate to the Oregon Washington border area from CA. I see some great information here. My husband and I are looking for a place where we can find jobs as well as some good shopping for my teenage daughter, Macy's type of stores. We are coming up to the area to look around next month. I also am looking for a town or city that has a health food store. Can anyone give us the names of some towns we should check out?
