Any nursing jobs in Family Health community field? (find a job, moving to)

Hey everyone
I 'm 27,
moving to Vancouver area in 2011 ( spring- summer)
I'm a community nurse ( working currently at a Family Health clinic)
Although I have a 3 year work experience in nursing rehabilitation field,
I really want to keep working as a community nurse and become a lactation consultant in the future.

From some reading of nursing web sites I got the impression that working in a Well Baby Care Clinic in Canada doesn't imply the same as it does here and mainly people go with their children to a doctor's private clinic for immunizations and growth and development follow-ups.

From your experience how does it work in B.C? Where do you take your children?

Another question: Which other city besides Vancouver would you recommend? Some people say- Kelowna.
I would like it to be as warm as possible, and close to the Parks, because I like backpacking. But not too small a community, so I can still find a job!

There doesn't seem to be anyone this year on the north shore of Vancouver who ISN'T pregnant. You timing is really good, but you don't say where you're coming from! Where is "here"?
Kelowna is a bunch of retired politicians, but lots of pregnant teenagers. I don't think there is a direct connection.

Well, I'm an Israeli nurse, and a lactation consultant is a job. (hopefully, if I find any)

OK..................does that mean you're actually IN Israel? (I give up guessing)
Your credentials won't mean a thing here.
B.C., more than most provinces and way beyond the excited states (where I knew most of my "Israeli nurses" is pretty stuffy and procedural (read: British) and entrenched and unchanging and full of rules and..........you get the idea.
It worked for them for a couple of hundred years. We haven't got rid of all of them so we decided to dilute a bit. I'm emotionally jewish but not Israeli.
