Thanks stone -ground and lucknow, you both seemed to have read my mind. We've been thinking about Burnaby and this information makes me more confident to go ahead and research further. We will be in Vancouver by the end of this month, and will keep few days to look at apts. I'll be making appointments to see places ahead of time. Do you think this is an effective way ? We are short on time since my husband will start work soon. Thanks again for all the advice !!

Just a thought that traveling to-and-fro the old Port Mann Bridge may not be everyone's cup of tea. A new 10-lane toll bridge is being constructed and will be ready around 2013. You can see photos and read more about it here.

Default Vancouver

Greetings from a fellow peach
we travel freq. and now living in the richmond area of B.C. (4 yrs.).
bringing in an auto from U.S.-CA. can be $$. Plus, the ins. ICBC on newer auto's is also costly. Health insur. $100 month for family.
The universities chg. international tuition usually double or triple that of U.S., however, the tuition is a bit lower than the U.S.
Around the UBC area is beautiful. We live close to Steveston where you might find something reasonable, plus area is on the river, nice places to walk & eat. Steveston is absol. beautiful and not a bad commute to dt Vancouver.
