Is Vancouver ready for a $3 donut? (neighbourhood, buy, price)

Cartems Donuterie joins other eateries like the newly rejunenated Save-On Meats in creating a hip, trendy dining neighbourhood in the Downtown Eastside. It's a great story, and an indicator that the Gastown and Downtown Eastside neighbourhoods are undergoing a slow, but gradual, gentrification.

So, would you buy a $3 gourmet donut? I would.

I would have loved to see a picture of this $3 doughnut. I probably would buy a $3 doughnut, but just once. I remember when "cupcakes" opened up, there was a lot of hype, so I bought one of their over priced cupcakes, it was good, but once was enough.

Tried "cupcakes" too. Liked Big City Cupcakes when they were still in town (liked the stuffed cupcakes)

I don't know if any of these are their $3 donuts but it's some pictures of some of their products. I was reading the descriptions for each of them and the Earl Grey donut and the carrot cake donut both sound delicious. The sweet heat one with the spicy chilie peppers in it sounds intriguing.

Well they don't look THAT special (considering it's a product photo), but I am sure they must taste great. I would like really like to try one or two
