Hi,

I'm planning a visit to Vancouver next week. I'm coming from the San Juan Islands. I was considering either taking the cascade line or driving, but I'm leaning towards the car, since it is January. I am also looking to stay at a hostel or an affordable hotel room. I'm a single male, and a hostel doesn't bother me too much, unless it is dangerous.

I would like to request recommendations on places to stay, things to see with a focus on January. I am also concerned about where to take my car if I do end up bringing it. Furthermore, are there any favorite restaurants over there in the affordable category. I'm 32 still young at heart anything youth oriented I should see?

1) Downtown Vancouver YWCA Hotel has limited secure underground parking at $13/night

YWCA Hotel - room ratesl

2) Dine Out Vancouver, three-course dinner at Vancouver's hottest restaurants for $18, $28, $38

Click on "Search Restaurants+" on the left column of the screen page.

There are lots to see and to do in January, such as skiing, whale watching, etc.
