Has anyone here lived in both Vancouver and one of its American PNW counterparts?

I loved living in Vancouver! It was the most social I'd ever been! It's all a matter of perspective - the heavy Asian population can make it feel isolating in some areas, but I lived in Kitsilano and didn't have any problems.

Oh, a positive post about Vancouver! Too good to be true... What's wrong with this forum!

City-Data in general is really anti-Canadian, probably because it leans so far to the right politically.

You have to be joking. CD leaning to the right politically is one of the funniest and insane things I have heard.

In general most of the CD posters are anti whatever the thread is. You should read some of the moronic posts bashing Los Angeles, San Diego or whatever place you want to pick. Canada isn't picked on any more than other places.

I lived in Vancouver, I had moved there from Prince Edward Island. I made more friends in Vancouver in a month there than I did in years on PEI. If you want to know a socially isolating place, it's PEI... unless you grew up there, people are gonna be cold to you. I loved Vancouver. I moved home to NS only because of family obligations.

Yeah I came here from another forum, a friend of mine also followed, that was very far to the right and I didn't feel safe there because I am a woman and disagreed with them (grounds to get doxxed, and death and rape threats). I don't feel unsafe here.

If a woman feels safe here, then the place isn't too far to the right, because women generally can't post safely around right-wingers (and many far leftists as well, to be honest). Not without using something like Tor.
