As a yankee down south.....I am appalled to read some of the headlines in the Van Sun and the lack of reaction from the authorities. Here in the states we probably have twice the violence than you guys but what happens here is...our cops bust their nuts trying to find the bad guys. Especially on a case where so much is at risk and where so much public attention has been placed on it. But in Canada....they arrest a guy for defending his brother by grabbing the gun from his assailant and killing him? Talk about mixed up priorities.

As someone who travels to Vancouver quite frequently, I plan on avoiding there until the cops and politicians grow some balls.

I dont agree with you about the oink oinks busting their balls in America to solve crimes. Probably because you are wrong. A real crime here is when Dunkin Donuts dont keep the jelly rolls warm. Are Canadian cops even familiar with Tim Horton? The oinks here are more interested in writing tickets then fighting real crime. They dont even respond to auto theft and that news is public information in NV AZ and CA.

When I was a victim of a crime in BC the RCMP was polite, kind and actually had feelings. Within 8 hours he knocked on my door to personally tell me they caught the guy and brought me my valubles. In america the coppers have cyanide in their viens and would have kept my valubles to bring home or sell in a pawn shop.

C'mon! They may be in law enforcement, but they're still Canadian! LOL

Actually, Tim Horton's at one time had a policy at many outlets that coffee was complimentary for law enforcement officials.

Nuthin like a cruiser sitting in the drive-thru to ward off the bad boys.

Canadian police must be doing something right because the crime rate in Canada is low.

Oh that burns me up. McDonalds gives free breakfast to them. By us peons....oops I mean us citizens (not me) put them up on a pedestal that engorges their heads with blood and they grow to 10 times the size.

That and current laws that protect them from being prosecuted for breaking the same silly little laws that they jamb down our thoats just floors me.

They do not protect the public, they are revenue raisers. Nothing more then revenue raisers and head knockers.

I would like to think, at least with my experience that the oink oinks are more like humans in Canada. But enough of that before I speak the real truth.

Can anyone send me a cherry jelly donut before bed? Wait, some White Spot salad would hit the spot too.

I didn't know Vancouver had 17 murders. Then again, everything I know about Canada's crime rate is a year old.

According to a newspaper article I read Vancouver has 17 already. If 19 was all Vancouver had last year, it is looking much safer than Atlanta or other cities I know of.
