I used to watch food network frequently, there are no vegetarian cooking shows...why is that? It would be great to see new cooking methods, more information about vegan, vegetarian nutrition and lifestyle. I think there are many people who live a vegetarian lifestyle, and would watch a show like this. It seems like every show on food network they are cooking a big piece of meat. Yuck. I am actually no longer enjoying watching food network.

Excellent point! They are really missing the boat on this. I think in light of the more frequent exposure of animal processing, more and more are re-thinking meat. The vegetarian population is growing, and there's a lot of money to be made in this area of the industry.
I used to be a foodie until I took the "behind the scenes" tour of a well-knowned cooking school. It reaked of rotting meat. I decided then and there that chef school is not for me. LOL. However, if they had a nice school who specialized in clean vegetarian, vegan, and even raw, that would most definately shift things up a bit in the industry....including the quality and competition, which is in dire need of shifting.

Probably because they cater to the masses. And let's face it, at this time, the vast majority of people are meat eaters! It's more cost effective to produce and air a TV show that will appeal to 95% of viewers rather than just 5% of the viewers (give or take a bit).
I know it's frustrating. The best bet for vegan and vegetarian shows would be YouTube videos. Some are very amateur, some are more professional. It's more of a niche thing, so the Internet is the best resource for it. And believe me, it's possible to get carried away and spend hours watching YouTube videos on vegan recipes! I have.
It is probably because the meat producers are paying for the ads during the shows. I think Paula Dean is on the payroll for the Pork production...everything she cooks has bacon on it...or in it. "Chocolate Chip Bacon Cookies"...

There are schools that meet do offer veggie/raw cooking instruction:

I would wish for the same. Occasionally, a television show will feature a segment with vegetarian or vegan cooking, or as the Oprah Winfrey Show had a segment featuring a vegan challenge. When Oprah did this show she was so powerful that she could. But several years earlier, she was sued by the meat industry in Texas for stating that she "never wanted to eat beef again."
The reason is simple and it is money. Sponsors are generally knee deep in the meat industry, or if not in the business of animal experimentation.
They have so much money and control.
It is for this reason that I attempt to purchase as many foods and products from indie and ethical sources.
These people run the world in a cruel and horrible way.
