I have been making some fairly simple smoothies with one vegetable and one fruit as the main ingredients.
Here they are

Spinach and avocado
Beets and Blueberries
Carrots and pumpkin
Red bell pepper and strawberries.

I add protein powder and spices such as mint, cinnamon etc. I use water but could easily use almond or soy milk.

Can anyone recommend any other combinations-just one fruit and one vegetable combination.

I have a few favorites, including one I tried for the first time today:

  1. Vegan protein powder, frozen berries, nuts or nut butter with water.
  2. Frozen berries, kale, nuts or nut butter and soy milk.
  3. Today's smoothie concocted with information obtained from Dr. Michael Greger's website, NutritionFacts.org | The Latest in Nutrition Related Research : Unsweetened fat-free dark cocoa powder, soy milk, frozen berries and date sugar. I added a leaf of dinosaur kale for even more nutritional value.

Just made this smoothie yesterday. It was soooo good.
1 banana, handful of frozen berries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries, coconut milk, ice and small pieces of melon.
Blend and enjoy!

Of course it was good - you drank the equivalent of a sugary dessert - do you realize how much sugar is in your smoothie - it is just about all sugar, very little protein and tons of carbs.

I use 1 cup Greek yogurt with high protein and fiber, 1 cup orange juice, 1 frozen banana, 1 cup fruit or berries, a few packets of sweetener, if you need to. Still a lot of sugar, but its better than a big old muffin or bagel, at least.

OP seems to like matching colors, so here goes:

Sweet potato (cooked and cooled) and an orange
Zucchini and green apple
Yellow squash and peach

Spinach and banana with vanilla.

Chard and apple with cinnamon.

Why just one vegetable and one fruit, though?

I usually jam the blender with as much whole spinach as it will hold then add about 12 ounces of milk and weight everything down with a banana. Blend until smooth, dump a couple cups of frozen blueberries in there (frozen berries are key... Then you don't have to adulterate your smoothie with ice), maybe some peach, maybe some rasberries, definitely an apple, a generous drip of vanilla extract and lots of cinnamon. Generally serves a family of four.
