i have recently become a vegan, well just over six months i started off with the usual side dish of a meat eater, vegetables and red kidney beans with white rice. but since then i have grown into a whole grain, whole fruits, i have an active day most of the times cycling and other exercises. i could say i break more tissue than most people out there vegan or not. i have come across soy beans, well i cook mine as soya mince, but i have read about the dangers of eating too much soya.
i need help on other healthier choices of protein apart from kidney beans and lentils?
There is another thread here about protein sources. Quinoa, setien, tofu, tempeh and nut butters are all great sources. You can also get some protein powder and make souped-up smoothies. I have an excellent recipe somewhere that uses avocado, strawberries, flax seeds... Which brings up the issue of iron. Make sure you are getting enough iron as well.
