I don't know where people get the idea that prisoners have a cushy live with state of the art gyms. Their 'gyms' are usually a section of the 'yard' with a few rusty weights and for those who might have a covered facility, I can assure you it aint all that. I can also assure you the cells are not painted in designer colours nor do they have feathered beds.

It's a fallacy that prisoners have a cushy life, yet it's repeated so many times that people actually believe it....

Sure the majority of prisons allow tv's and for those who don't have one personally, they have access to a communal one, but imagine if they were not allowed any outlet. Not only would the prison be in constant turmoil, but there would also be a lot of angry people walking out of those prisons on release day....you know what that translates into.

The worse thing you can do to anyone is to take away their liberty and that's what you get when you are locked up....along with everything that goes with prison life.
Exactly. Most people do not know this unless they are unfortunate enough to find themselves in prison. And it doesn't take much in California for someone to find themselves in prison, especially in places with overzealous police and prosecutors determined to lock everyone up and throw away the key.
