Default Need advice - friend getting married in Ojai, CA

I am hoping you guys can help me. A friend of mine is getting married in Ojai, CA with the reception in Ventura, CA. Being that I am a native Texan and have never been to California, I was wondering if you could provide some advice on where to say, which airport to fly into, etc. I will most likely be renting a car.

I am someone who loves the outdoors, but obviously being that is a wedding weekend, I am planning on seeing some of the "big city" as well. I am sorry if this post is vague, just looking right now for some general travel information. What is the weather like in this region in February?

Thanks for any help you can provide! I truly appreciate it.

BUR and LAX would be the closest airports with the cheapest fares. If BUR is only $50 more, it might be worth avoiding the hassle of LAX as BUR has on site car rental and is closer in traffic. Santa Barbara has an airport but it is probably expensive to fly into. Go ahead and check.

Places to stay would include Ventura, Camarillo, Oxnard, as they are the closest.

February weather is beautiful though there could be a two or three day rain event.

Why not fly into Santa Barbara? You can rent a car there drive down the coast to Ventura. If you want to stay in Ojai you can although it may be easier to find a place in Ventura. You can also drive from Santa Barbara to Ojai taking the Coast Highway or 101 (It is the same for that stretch.) and take the 150 into Ojai. From Ojai to Ventura you can take the 33 which is the only way to Ventura from Ojai anyway. The 33 is the main road in and out, that is unless you are heading to Santa Paula or Fillmore. In your case I would keep it simple. Frontier flies direct from Dallas to Santa Barbara.

Visit Ojai Valley Visitors Bureau Official Tourism Website - Home to find places to stay and things to do. Ojai has plenty of places to stay! Try tone of the following: The Lavender Inn, Su Nido, The Emerald Iguana, or The Blue Iguana. They are all locally owned and operated and are walking distance to the downtown area. Ojai has no shortage of shops, galleries, and restaurants. See ojaiwalkingmap.com for more information.
By the way, I live, work, and play in Ojai so I know the town very well.

You know, I was just getting ready to slam a response to this thinking that Santa Barbara would cost a lot more and BUR or LAX, though more of a hassle, would be significantly cheaper.

Boy was I wrong.

RT Dallas to Santa Barbara = RT Dallas to LAX = $262.

Can you please tell me how you got RT Dallas to Santa Barbara of $262 non stop? Everything on Frontier says you have to stop in Denver and is a lot more expensive. Thanks.

0% to maybe 60% depending on when you drive.

The 101 can back up badly at times so you have to allow extra time. Rush hour traffic is at a stand still often.
