1. Means decorating the boat with lights
2. Taking part in the parade of lights from the boat you just decorated or from some place in the harbor area.
3. Seeing snow at the parade of lights and hoping that you got their early so it is still white
4. Visiting the Oxnard Historic District around F street (Also includes parts of E and G now) to see the homes with their lights and yards decorated.
5. Seeing a procession of Police and Fire personal escorting a large sleigh with Santa waving.
6. Visiting Plaza park to see the largest tree in all of the entire Oxnard, covered in lights. Makes my kids crack up when I say that. They think I am going to say world but I stick in Oxnard.
7. Freezing your tail end off because the night air has crept down to the ungodly temperature of 47degrees.
8. Wearing your cold weather gear because of the cold. In my case jeans and a long sleeve shirt with shoes and socks instead of shorts and a short sleeve shirt with flip flops. Oh and with a jacket. because 47 degrees is freezing.
9. Tamales of course and everyone is selling them
10. And for this year watching the storm of the century wreak havok on your favorite part of sand.

Love this top-ten list, Soon2be. I can identify with each and every point. The one thing I would add (though then it would be a top-11 list, which is kind of "odd") is Christmas Day dinner at a Chinese restaurant.

I love your post!:-) But 47 degrees is hilarious! We hit 35 today and I am wearing shorts. Hahaha! Seriously.
Can't wait for my fisrt Christmas in Ventura, next year. Spent a couple in the Venice Beach area feeding the homeless, but next year I'm looking forward to Ventura and Oxnard....in my shorts and Vans
Happy Holidays!

jc76 - forgive me if I'm asking you to repeat yourself, but I remember you from the LA forums. What made you decide to move to Ventura? From where?

This is an unusual year in that we have a major weather system that is keeping it "cold". LOL I remember last year hanging out at the pool when friends around the nation were talking about the cold weather. This Christmas seems like it will be a wet one. LOL

Lol. A Wet Christmas is fine, I just look forward to someday (hopefully next year) having a dry, warm, sunny Christmas. I have had 32 cold snowy Christmas' and it's over rated. Haha!

Winstin is right though, I am also a Chinese food Christmas guy. and they are usually the only one's open on Christmas day. lol

I thought the train set was very cool. We parked and walked up and down the street. I think my little guys after seeing the train set didn't want to go anywhere else. So detailes as well. Wonder how they do in the rain. LOL

The train was really nice!!! I just love the camels. I took my boyfriend there and I really thought the camels would be there but the rain probably halted that!!
