I passed by the Ventura Road bridge this morning and saw the stopped train allong with Police and Fire personel and I have to say I was thinking some one ended their life today. Turns out it was a guy that had got stuck on the tracks. He did leave the car when the train came.

From what I heard he was on the Ventura side of the river bottom when he was hit. The train pushed the SUV to the Oxnard side of the bridge. A co-worker who also passes by there saw what she said looked like a 4 door Jeep Cherrokee very smashed up.

Had a art teacher back in the 70's. Got his car stuck on the tracks twice.

My friend's brother was killed on the railroad tracks many years ago. Of course, he was walking on them so it may have been a suicide. Nevertheless, I have a real paranoia of railroad tracks so I tend to look up the tracks both ways to make SURE it is clear and then I hit the gas hard when I approach them so I can quickly get over them, LOL!
