Default How is Juan Lagunas Soria Elementary School

Hello all, this is my first post and I was wondering about the new school that was built that is located near 5th and Victoria. Is it true they have a dual immersion program? Does anyone take their kids there? I was asking to find out a general review.

Thanx!

Hello LadyKLO,

To find schools in Oxnard head to the district web sites and you can find the individual school sites. Here is the site for Soria Elementary. I am not sure how the school is but they have a cool park next door to it.

Thanks Soon2! The website doesn't go into any information about the dual immersion program. I did google it and found a review from a parent so I figure the school must be doing a decent job from what I read.

I just found this and it is not up to date. My kids attend Rio Del Norte and that program ended.

California Two-Way Immersion Programs Directory (CA Dept of Education)

Enter Ventura for county in the search field and hit the search button. It will show you the following schools.

Bard Elementary in the Hueneme School District K - 1

Montalvo Elementary in the Ventura School District K - 6

University Charter Middle School at CSU Channel Islands 6 - 8 Part of Pleasant Valley School District in Camarillo

University Prep at CSU Channel Islands in Camarillo K - 5 Part of Pleasant Valley School District in Camarillo

Yes, I'm trying to gauge immersion programs. I am a native speaker, but her mom is spanish and we have been talking about it as a way for her to learn spanish.

Thanx for that link, Montalvo is only a few miles away.
