But I don't know what to expect! I have about $7k saved up for somewhere to live and plan on getting a job out there also hopefully. Another thing that I'm really worried about is meeting new friends so I don't become lonely therefore I want to live by a lot of students also. As far as school(santa barbara city college) goes, I planned on applying for financial aid also so that should help out a bit. I wanted to try something new because living in Milwaukee is one of the most depressing places ever and I'm not a fan of snow. Any information would help me out. Thank you guys.

Wow that $7,000 will go fast. You need an okay job too. You will need to live in a pretty inexpensive area like Carpinteria, Isla Vista, or Goleta.

The area can have some materialistic ppl and traffic is different in this area.

Anyways, more info would help.

It has some of the best surfing, two malls, hip movie theaters, hip bowling alley, bunch of Starbucks, and pretty much a bunch of these places are always full of people.

looks like you did some research already. you will be fine, you will live just like anyone whom is going to school and working between the age of 18-28 group. I have friends that dont even have $1,000 saved but they work as bar tender, go to the local college, have roommates. They love SB so they have nothing to complain about for now.

Get a good job and don't waste your money and get some financial aid or scholarships, and you can make it out of there within 2-3 yrs and get state residency by the end if you wish.

Note you won't qualify for in-state tuition rates for some time... it might work in your favor to defer the move or defer the schooling post-move until you qualify. Just a thought.

Ah I have! I just want everything to work out in my favor so I don't end up unsuccessful and back in Milwaukee.

Yeah I figured I wouldn't for the most part I wouldn't be able to apply for instate for awhile, which is why I chose to start at a CC instead of a UC. Thank you very much for your statement
