Looks like a pretty great place to work. Anyone work there? How difficult is it to get a job there?

There is a retail location there as well if you're just looking for an entry level job. Their sales people are incredible, IMO.

It has always been a highly regarded employer locally, and so openings will be competitive. If you have a highly unique skill set they're looking for, then that changes things.

Family-type atmosphere, a bit insular culture (referring to corporate), folks generally don't leave (for better and for worse).

Pretty cool working there if you ask me. When I was working for a locksmith shop we worked for them from time to time. On one visit we entered the front office area the guy at the reception desk asked us who we were there to see. He went down a hall to find them for us. I noticed that he was not wearing any shoes or socks.

In years past Yvon Chouinard (Founder of the company) would notice that the surf was up and many of the employees would head out to catch some waves. Chouinard and his son Fletcher have since developed a line of surf boards that are stronger than traditional fiberglass boards. Fletcher Chouinard Designs: Specializing in Custom Epoxy Surfboards That Are Hand Shaped, Using Extruded Polystyrene Foam and Epoxy Resin They also own a corporate beach house at Faria Beach I think. Had to go up there one day to fix some locks. People up there were just hanging out having a fun time.

The company also opperates a day care center on site for employees kids.

This is a cool place if you can get in.

I recall seeing them profiled on a show about the best places to work. I believe flex time is an option so employees can surf or snowboard.
