Hello,

I used to work in the city of Ventura. I am looking for this Catholic church that I'd like to visit this Lent. I went there w/ my mom and her "handicapables" group of friends including a priest. It was a long time ago about 1995-1998. The church was located in the hill w/ a very beautiful tainted glass window above the altar where you can see through the greens of the trees. I think it is either located in the Santa Paula, Fillmore, or Saticoy area. Both my mom and her dear friend passed away and I would love to see this beautiful church once again. Please email me at charminmom707@yahoo.com for any info of the name of this church. Thank you for your help.

Using Google Earth program go look at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 10635 Henderson Rd. Ventura, CA 93004. It is in the east end of town also known as Saticoy. Fillmore is about 40 miles east of there. Good Luck.

Sacred Heart is not in the hills. It is off the 126. It is a modern building and not the oldest of Catholic Churches. The Hills would be a few miles to the north.

Fillmore's Church is off the 126 as well, in Fillmore the 126 becomes the main road. It is flat near the Church allthough you can see mountains to the North and South of the city. They are not near by.

I will check on the church in Santa Paula. I have not been to that one.

Another one that may be of interest is one in Ventura that is built in the hills. They have a home for retired Nuns on site.
