We're thinking of relocating to Ojai. We have 4 dogs (I know... I know...) and are wondering if there are places to take dogs hiking / swimming off leash close to town. Are dogs allowed to swim in Lake Cositas? Any info about life as a dog in Ojai would be greatly appreciated.

Humans aren't even allowed to swim in Lake Casitas.

Be careful with dogs running around in the chaparral. There are lots of foxtails in the brush which your dog will snort up it's nose. About $200 for a vet to get them out.
