There is nothing much separating Thousand Oaks from the Pacific Ocean
except the Santa Monica Mountains. Take Kanan Road thru the mountains
(20 minutes) and all you see to the left and right of you is ocean
and beaches. Drive down the Pacific Coast Highway and take your pick.

Very sandy. Great for boogie boarding. Not so great for surfing. LASD patrols on little ATVs (and they've been doing that since the early 1980s I remember.)
