I'm sure plenty of people do it, it just wouldn't be fun at all. My guess would be that it would take you 1.5 hours each way. I work with a guy in Century City who commutes from Westlake Village everyday and he told me its atleast an hour (except for rare days he can do it in 45 minutes). WeHo is atleast another 20 minutes away from Century City, maybe longer considering how jammed Sunset and Santa Monica Blvd can get during rush hour.

I live in Thousand Oaks and commute to Studio City everyday.
If I go early (6am) it takes 35 minutes. If I go when there is traffic
it takes 40-45 min. I went from TO to Hollywood this past Sat. I
took the 101 and got off at Highland. There was no traffic. I got
to the theatre in 45 minutes. If there had been traffic it could have
taken 1-1.5 hours. I think the 405 as a route generally has more moments
during the day of being a parking lot than the 101. Hope this helps
a little.

That would not be a fun commute. I used to commute from Sherman Oaks to Thousand Oaks and was miserable the entire time. Now the gas nearing $4.00 per gallon that would be crazy.
